Christmastime...

It's been a while...
Lafe and I both had some sniffles and coughs... but got over those... just in time for Kade to begin with it all 2 days before his surgery. He also woke up every hour Saturday and Sunday night... and totally wore me out!! My mom was here for Kade's surgery and she and I took turns holding him the recliner while the other slept...THANKS SO MUCH, MOM!!
Today, December 21st, Kade had surgery. It was minor and he did amazing! I cried when he left to go to the operating room, however, the nurse said that he didn't make one sound. He breathed in the gas, feel asleep, and 35 minutes later was in recovery. (He had a testicle brought down into the correct place.) I was allowed back in the recovery room, where he just cried, but not too hard for about 30 minutes. When I moved him to my shoulder... he got comfy and OUT LIKE A LIGHT! He slept and we went home. He slept most of the day, but was awake for about an hour in the afternoon and then woke up about 5:45 and stayed awake until 9:00. He did SO well! He ate some...not much, but has drank some milk and then some water and EVEN CRAWLED AROUND a little bit.
The Lord is faithful. He provides comfort and peace and healing. How blessed we are to have been able to become parents AND to have been blessed to have a successful surgery. All praise and glory and honor to the Lord God Almighty.

Doors
Kade likes to play with doors... he has for a very long time. Now that he is crawling very well and very fast, he can get into a room super speedy quick and really doesn't get into much else. He just likes to push and pull them. Our doors don't shut all the way unless you push them hard so it's perfect for him. He's so entertaining... not only to himself, but to me and Lafe, too! I can't believe that in 10 days he will be 1 year old!!! Time has really gone by quickly!!

Talking....
Kade has a very unique way of talking... this isn't the half of his communication! We just love it. It brings a smile to our faces and we laugh sometimes because it is just so fun! Thank you, Lord, for such a blessing of this child!

What a GREAT day!!
My principal told me she needed to talk to me right before my lunch was over. At first I was nervous... what kid did what? is there a parent that is upset about something? what's wrong? .... she started off by saying that she didn't know how to tell me this so she was just going to come out and say it... a parent scheduled a meeting with her this morning. They discussed that the school's fund raiser earned enough money to purchase projectors and surround sound for each teacher at our site. Then the discussion moved to an interactive white board (AND SO MUCH MORE) called a SMARTBoard. They are about $1400-$1500. They discussed what was needed to order one and how to go about it and then............
the parent took out their checkbook, wrote a check and said to purchase one FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be getting a SMARTBoard for my classroom in less than 6 weeks!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! What a blessing this will be AND a huge instrument in the education of my kiddos! We're going to do so much with that thing!!!!!!!

Just playin' at home!
Lafe has been working for my brother a lot lately (which is such a blessing) and so Kade and I have been home playing tonight together. He was saying "Momma Momm Momm" and then "Da..Dada ... DA!". However by the time I got the camera he stopped. He is working on getting on all fours, but that one leg will always get in the way. Oh well...when he is finally independently mobile, we will probably wish for the opposite! HA!
