Summertime

Nap time can be hard on some people...
Who says you can't eat your breakfast and color at the same time?!

Playing in the sandbox..
Mowing the driveway...

Splash Park

Kade and I went to Splash Park and played today. It was fun. We only stayed about 20 minutes for several reasons. 1) I didn't know exactly when it opened. 2) He acted like he was ready for a nap early, however, he just rested. 3) By the time we got there and played... he was finally ready for a nap. We plan on taking Daddy there tomorrow to play. I think it will be a place we visit often this summer!

Hanging out...

Kade wore Daddy's hat for a long time one day! He loves hanging out with his Daddy and has such a good one! I am so thankful that I know that my kids will grow up with a father that will be there for them and show his love in any way possible to them. I am also thankful that they have a father that will discipline and show them the right way. Thank you, God!

Walking Around...

Kade just took off with his blankie... seriously.. this is after 4-5 days of just walking! Love it! Also... anyone know where to find a blanket like this?? Made by SpringMaid. We have looked everywhere. Online, in every store... there are holes in it already and I'm afraid that there won't be enough left of it to last him.

Walking

I know that most children walk a long time before this age, however, Kade has always been one to do it on his time and not the doctor's or mine. Teaching me more and more about the Lord, too. I have learned to rest in the fact that he will do things on his time and not be worried about it. So, last night, Kade and I were home while Lafe was working. I decided to put him out in the middle of the floor standing and ask him to come to me. He did! First with one step. Again with two, then three... then we had to play with something. We did that over and over. This morning.... well, by the video you can see... he just took off! That is exactly what he did when he crawled...he didn't do it until he knew he could do it well and at his speed. How fun!! Now, I know we're in trouble!

April Fun

Swinging at the park....I love where my parents now live.
Jericho holding Jackson, Jacob holding Kade, Gracie walking by Jordan! What a great bunch of kids!

Kade playing by the wagon... it needs some TLC.

Not many, buy hey...not too bad for his first egg hunt!

Walking in Nana and Papa's yard looking for eggs...

Coloring eggs...

Sweet cousin to Jackson! He has a sweet sister rubbing his head, too!

Gracie Girl, Kade, and I playing with beads in the floor. They love 'em!

Probably the most favorite place for all of the grandkids to play... either on the stairs or in the sun room...

Fun times

I just LOVE this picture of Kade! He is finally got a little bit of me coming out in him! Don't get me wrong...I LOVE that he looks like his Daddy... but there's a little bit of me coming out and it's so much fun!
He worked hard so he needed to relax....ha!

Here Kade is actually listening to our IPOD. He has played with the headphones forever... so I decided to see what he would do... he danced! Just like he does when we have music going in his room. I think it's so cool that he loves music. I hope that he desires to play an instrument and does well at it. He looks like his Papa here, too.

Put them on... take them off... put them on... take them off... repeat!

Cutest boy!! I just love him!

All by Himself

After practicing a lot with Mom and Dad, Kade will now push one of his toys! Yea! We're finally getting enough courage and strength to walk across the room. I know that this is exciting and several of you are going to say... just wait after he's walking you'll be wishing for him to just be crawling. I know, I know, but how exciting for your only child to begin to walk!

Walking

Kade does things on his time...not ours or the doctors or the books. I like that about him so much. However, sometimes he has been hard to wait on his time. With Lafe and I pushing hard for him to start walking though the use of walkers, toys that you walk behind, standing with him and moving his feet... Kade really did not have any interest in learning what we wanted to teach him. Until the past couple of days... Lafe showed him how to walk by holding onto his fingers and he really enjoys it! Kade will crawl up to one of us and pull on our fingers wanting to practice walking! I love it! It is really neat that the Lord has been using Kade in our lives to remind us that no matter how much we ask, pray, or try to make things happen... it is God's timing for our lives. Really cool how a 13 (14 month old tomorrow!) can be used of the Lord already!!

No snow!

We thought we would show Kade about playing in the snow... however, he would have NONE of it! I don't think he liked the cold temperature or being wet. Maybe we'll try again next time AND after a nap instead of before!

Forgotten Christmas Decoration....

Kade crawled into the laundry room and pulled open a box that had Christmas decorations in it. We hadn't put it in the attic just yet. He brought it into the living room and shared the Snowman over and over and over again with Mommy and Daddy! Thanks for sharing, Kade Samuel! It was fun to watch him move and learn how to turn it on and off! He's growing so fast!!

Daddy plays the guitar... and I already know how to play and sing!

January

Kade was allowed to bring home this jumping Zebra from MaMo's house. We are thankful. He is jumping and pulling up and all sorts of fun things. It's great to have another fun new toy!
So, Lafe plays the guitar and just puts it in the guest bedroom. Well, occasionally we leave the doors open or we forget to shut them since Kade loves to open and close (slam) them... he was playing on Daddy's guitar!

American Idol ... don't really know.... involved in music ... most likely...

Kade was given this towel as one of his presents from MaMo... we needed to take some pictures of this little froggie!
